Home Workshop

$33.00

Home can be such a complicated word. It is a place? A feeling? Is home something you long for, or something you run from? Come write about it. <3

Like all writing circles with Doula of Words, this workshop is a safe, generative, welcoming, and warm environment, which is open to all. You don't have to be a published writer or be working on something specific to find a home with us. After signing up, there is nothing you need to be or do. I’ll be sending you an email before we start, inviting you to introduce yourself the group, and then we’ll get started.

During these four weeks, you will hear poems on the theme of home. You will be invited into your own writing practice at your own pace. This workshop is for those who would like to take this workshop privately.

Every week for four weeks you will receive an email packet that includes a video and several prompts to write to. You will also receive loads of resources and have access to a beautiful community of other writers who are exploring home just like you! Take this workshop at your own pace, in the comfort of your own space, and share as little or as much as you want.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email olinyky@gmail.com. I am so excited to write with you and explore my grief with you. You’re safe here, I hope you’ll join us.

This workshop is for you if:

  • you're ready to explore what the word home means to you

  • you're not ready to explore what home means to you but are willing to try in a safe, loving, open container with other kind-hearted humans

  • you're open to letting a bruise become your teacher

  • you've got sticky stuff when it comes to family, your origin story, grief, history, the patriarchy or your physical home

  • you've ever felt homesick when you're in your home or with your family

  • you feel lonely, disconnected, angry, sad, and/or confused when you hear the word 'home'

  • you've recently left home, come home or are seeking home

  • you dream about a place where things are different

  • you want to strengthen or invigorate your writing practice

  • you want to meet other writers from around the world and find community within yourself

  • here is some more information about if this workshop if the place for you
